Conservation Awards 2006
For the past three years we have been managing the three meadows around the garden. In 2006 we entered the work we have done into the Insurance Corporations' Conservation Awards: Best Conservation Project. We were Highly Commended and the judges were very enthusiastic about our efforts to manage the meadows organically, reduce the noxious weeds which had taken hold and to generally increase the bio-diversity of the whole area. We are particularly pleased that the old Jersey cider apple tree has been revitalised after care and attention.
